(Ocean Grove, NJ). The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association is proud to present The Orchestra, a group which stars former members of the legendary rock band, The Electric Light Orchestra, on Saturday, August 20th at 8:00 p.m.

The Electric Light Orchestra began in 1970 as an orchestral rock group with a sound that picked up where The Beatles left off. ELO’s roster changed numerous times over the years with no fewer than 18 members contributing to the band’s success.

ELO’s run in the ’70s and early ’80s included numerous gold and platinum albums and such beloved Top Ten hits as “Evil Woman,” “Turn to Stone,” “Sweet Talkin’ Woman,” “Mr. Blue Sky,” “Shine a Little Love,” “Telephone Line, and “Livin’ Thing.”

In the late 80s, several members of ELO reconvened as ELO Part II. Performing as a six-man symphonic rock band, ELO Part II wowed audiences around the world with their musicianship and stage personas.

Current members of The Orchestra include musicians from both ELO and ELO Part II. Mik Kaminsky on violin and Louis Clark on orchestral keyboards were both members of ELO and ELO Part II. Eric Troyer on keyboards, guitar, and vocals; Parthenon Huxley on guitar and vocals; and Gordon Townsend on drums are all former members of ELO II.

One additional current member of The Orchestra — also a former musician with ELO II — is New Jersey’s own native son, Glen Burtnik. Burtnik’s extensive musical career includes a stint on Broadway as Paul McCartney in Beatlemania, composer of Patty Smyth and Don Henley’s 1992 smash, “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough,” ten years as frontman of the legendary rock band, Styx, in addition to his popular yearly New Jersey Xmas Extravaganza shows which feature dozens of notable performers.

Don’t miss it when Burtnik, Kaminsky, Clark, and the other talented members of The Orchestra perform the greatest hits of ELO live “down the Shore” this Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Great Auditorium. Located at Pilgrim and Ocean Pathways in Ocean Grove, NJ, the Great Auditorium is a handicapped-accessible venue. Reserved seats are $40 and General Admission seats are $35. Tickets may be ordered online at www.oceangrove.org or by calling 800–590–4064.
